The message below was sent to the Brebeuf Jesuit community in afternoon of Friday, September 15.

Dear Brebeuf Jesuit Community,
On behalf of the Brebeuf Jesuit Board of Trustees, I would like to comment on Father Jack’s announcement earlier today.
Although we are sad that this year will be his last at Brebeuf, we honor and respect his wishes to return home to Baltimore and to take the next step in answering God’s call. We appreciate his devotion to his mother and his decision speaks to us of his honor as a son.
Father Jack is a passionate and transformative leader and his impact will be felt in the Brebeuf Jesuit Community long into the future. Father Jack and our experienced and dedicated Leadership Team are committed to an ambitious set of goals for this year intended to sustain the spiritual vitality, academic strength, and financial well-being of our school.
The Board of Trustees, in partnership with the Midwest Province of the Society of Jesus, has begun the process to identify a successor to Father Jack. I will keep you informed as this process progresses.
Father Jack has elevated Brebeuf Jesuit to a higher level of excellence reinforcing our position as a preeminent Catholic, Jesuit college preparatory school. As a community, let us strive to make this year, the final year under Father Jack’s leadership, another outstanding one at Brebeuf Jesuit.
Respectfully,
Pat Bruen ’79
Chair, Board of Trustees
